  • Thanks Cherry..Yep that was for one pint.. we ran out and i was too lazy to go further than the co op.

As we are on holiday this week, i will be spending a bit more time at OH's so not really got much of plan for food shopping - he provides when at his and vice versa, though normally we are at mine much more often than his.

I most definitely do not need any extra calories... i'm not fat by any means but when i met OH two years ago, I was a good stone lighter, a regular at kettlercise, body combat and pump classes and had given up sugar. The only time ive been to the leisure centre in the last year was to get a bag crisps from the vending machine at lunch time.

ive never tried dried milk.. i dont like coffee mate (ex OH used to have that) im guessing thats similar.
  • Could get used to this not working lark..I could quite easily retire tomorrow if it wasnt for that tiny little problem of how im going to pay the bills for the next 19 year until i can officially retire...unless they move the goal posts again.

    Monday
    - spent £17.78 (lunch with tip) with DD2.

    Tuesday
    - NSD. OH paid for shopping and cooked.

    Wednesday
    - £6.15 in Tesco
    - £6.85 in Aldi

Had ran out of fruit, yogurt, nice cereal, butter and milk! and as OH is having a footie night with DS tonight, having the nice things stops me reaching for far too much chocolate.

Although I have walked a long way today whilst on babysitting duties, my fit bit doesnt appear to have registered many steps, happens a lot when im pushing the pram!! So will need to go for a little walk minus DGS to officially go over 10,000 even though I know im done sooo much more.
  • Saturday and its back to work..

    Thursday
    £2.20 on parking - at a local woodland/beach area - took a picnic.
£1.64 in Aldi (on milk and ice creams) - there has been a pattern forming re milk this week, i obviously use more than I think.

    Friday
£11.30 in Aldi - back to mine for the weekend. so for Friday and Saturday tea and some general bits and bobs.

Have spent up :( so now borrowing from my extra debt payment/emergency pot. Keeping a record and will put back on Friday (pay day). Money from OH for car went on lunch with DD and paid the TV licence (has forgotten it was due and have set up to pay monthly this time - £24.50 for first 6).

DS has announced he will be coming home from uni sometime this week for a while. Which is great for me as i dont get to see him too much but not very good for MS or budgeting in general - I will, as always, need to transport him back and then of course the usually expense of having extra bodies at home. DS's GF will almost certainly be joining him for a large percentage of his trip.

OH appears to have found a car which means I might get mine back some time soon.
We were just going to go for a cheap run around but FiL has sourced a newer, hopefully more reliable one and wants to lend OH the money to be paid back monthly - im a bit concerned about this as OH doesnt have any money now without adding to monthly expenses but he will be doing a fair bit of mileage so maybe the loan is more MS than a cheap car.

I had never thought of the Fitbit not recording properly when pushing a pram. I think if you know the distance you've walked well enough to work out the step count, you can put the data in manually though it's a bit of a faff.

It sounds like a bit of an expensive week coming up but it will be lovely for you to see your son (and GF). Can you send them out fruit picking to supplement the budget? :D

    20.5 coupons used in 2020. 62.5 used in 2021. 94.5 remaining as of 21/3/22
  • Limping along until pay day - Friday.
£28.97 spent in Aldi - need to have some food in when DS arrives back.
    £5 phone top up.
Tomorrow will need petrol and bridge toll.

I can see the next couple of weeks being a bit of a blur. Not only have I agreed to work ALL of bank holiday weekend meaning today is day 2 of 12 in a row, DD1s partner is working away so i'm on helping with the DGC duties whilst squeezing in a 3 hour round trip to pick up DS, i also appear to have been landed with dog sitting duties when my parents go away at the weekend for 10 days:(.

  • Spends today
    £15.01 petrol
    £3 bridge

Baby sitting duties didn't end until 11 pm last night - too late and tired for tea, so thought id be a bit more organised today and shove something in the slow cooker - 8 hours at work, 3 hour round trip to uni and a couple of hours helping put the GC to bed and im very glad i did.
Almost SiL is back tonight :j and DS is home for "about a week" no GF just yet and has volunteered to take on some of the dog sitting - so just 10 more days of work to think about now!
Tomorrow is not quite pay day but I should be able to see my wage in pending and plan some kind of budget - and its an almost 5 week month, better planning needed.
  • Pending payments are showing - slightly more than expected in both jobs but that just means that now it actually balances -
Will just be normal payment to the debt this month as its going to be an expensive one -
DD1 and DGS2 both have birthdays.
Rest of hen party to pay for (total cost of this is £120 - not including spending and travel so far).
DD1s wedding present -balance to pay. im paying for her to stay 2 nights after the wedding in one of the nicer disney hotels and joining her for the 2nd night with the DGC (in our own room) - expensive but ive justified this by telling myself its a once in a lifetime opportunity and the memories will fair out way the cost.

I'm with you on the once-in-a-lifetime thing: you will have lots of lovely memories. We have similar sorts of expenses from a recent wedding but we don't regret it at all. The time spent with family is invaluable.

I'm glad you've got that little bit extra coming in!

Thank you. I have had to work a lot of hours to do this but the look on her face when she saw what id booked was worth every single penny. OH and I have 5 DC between us .. so i may live to regret it... what we do for one i guess we will have to do for them all.
