Hello All,
I was after some advice please. I have my design in place for a new summer house, which incorporates a small brick wall; maybe 3/4 brick high then timber structure onto of that. but I am unsure on foundations and whether to:
a) Do a whole pad foundation.
b) Do a strip foundation.
And if you were to recommend a pad foundation would you put hardcore, sand, DPM, insulation then concrete? I would like to put underfloor heating in room.
Or do I do a strip foundation, if so, what depth, then excavate the floor and then add insulation, dpm etc?
Any advice would be welcomed.
The size would be 5m x 5m.
Many Thanks,
Richard.

What will your building inspector want?0

Depends on the ground conditions really, that will determine which foundation will be most cost effective...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
