Travel insurance for trip already started

Hi there. I'm in a bit of a pickle. I've already started my holiday and can not get travel insurance because l've already started my trip (see note below for why). Would settle for just medical insurance for Canada if l could get it. Surely l don't have to fly home first?! Any help gratefully received 
NB: I have travel insurance but it is only for 31 days at a time. Thought l could extend it to three months - turns out l couldn't and now l'm uninsured...

Travel Nomads are usually the insurer that's mentioned for this sort of thing, but it won't be cheap.0

Thanks agrinnall. Have also just discovered 'medical insurance for visitors to Canada' which you can buy at any time0
