I'm generalising but it's really interesting to see the cultural differences in the decorating styles though - I found a Dutch one, very minimalist. It's a great time-waster but at least it's cheaper ( and better! ) than buying a load of magazines for inspiration!0 -
Tiff and Rosy you are both very naughty lol, tomorrow is another day that the housework won't get done :rotfl: :rotfl:

GOOD GRIEF that French person!

How many different sets of crockery has she got?
Does she have a themed dinner every day??

Doddsy, now here's the thing! Having half a pack of soapflakes I decided to make the soap - only half the quantity. I decided to make oatmeal soap because it is good for dry skin. I thought of a splendid idea, I would blend the oats with the milk so they would not be big flakes.
Are you ahead of me? Yes, soap porridge.
With the remaining flakes I started again and made a rather stiff, quick drying mix. Put it in an old tetra pack to harden.
Feeling unfulfilled I searched through the soapy stuff I had. I made hand wash and I had some left over sitting in a bowl. I heated it in the microwave (I used it for all the soap making) it went really runny. Having another scavange round I found an old half bar of honey soap. I grated it up and melted it. I added the dried milk and I kept heating and whipping the mix until it was creamy. As it was honey to start with I added a teaspoon of honey and some lavender seeds to the mix.
I used a loaf tin lined with baking parchment to put it in. The scrapings in the bowl I melted again and put it into a couple of ice cube moulds. I'll be able to try it tomorrow.
Just a bye the bye, does anyone watch the Martha Stewart wedding programme on the Wedding channel? it's on at 10am tomorrow morning. I know it's weddingy stuff, but a lot of her ideas are very crafty and would transfer over to other things.
Here's the link to her website - lots of lovely halloween things to make.
