Hi mollymunchkin - I am Shropshire Girl in her sewing section, although it is a bit of everything really
Hey Shropshire Girl, love your blog. I'm going to try some of the soap. having read through the links I will microwave it. I bought some terrifyingly expensive soap in France, will that melt into this mix do you think?
I am going to use a Tightwad idea to make a heart cutter for the pattern - sorry to be such a copier!
Seems to me we have some very dark horses on the thread -0 -
Hi moanymoany - I should think it would melt into the mix - dont you like it as it is?
And I guess you are going to get a tin and shape it into a heart - I love the Tightwad! We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Sorry folks, here's another one - it's in French though but some of the pictures of the craft stuff ( petites idees bricolage ) and the house are pretty.

Hey doddsy, at which stage did you put the hearts on. I think you're right about the French soap, to start with I'll make the recipe as is.
Ooh, isn't this fun -I'm going to make some fancy wrappings to give it as stocking fillers.
Tightwaddery forever!0 -

After looking at 'Homespun Living' I thought - yes, I can make a stab at that. After looking at lilinath I think I'll be away and slit my wrists!
The French are really into this kind of thing. They have some splendid magazines with projects to do. When I go to France I try and buy some, I've never actually made anything though!0 -

But I think she's misinterpreted the comment about being rich hasn't she ? That was aimed at the blog Aussielass recommended0 -

Tightwaddery forever!
I pressed the cutter into the top while it was still quite soft, I then left it out to harden for a week. I put a cereal box inner over the top to keep the dust off.
I then went to the local florist and begged some lovely cellophane - actually I asked to buy it but she had a roll end that she kindly let me have for free.
One thing I will do next time is put a load more lavender oil in it because once it hardens the smell does weaken.
Another tip I read about is to put the soap into a pringles tube, then when it's hard to saw through to get round bars.
I hope you have some good fun with it

Now that I've wasted so much time in blog land, I've found a few more for you girls
http://buttercupandroses.blogspot.com/ (UK blog, with her own real life shop in Somerset)
http://posy.typepad.com/posy/ (another UK one)
http://vintagepleasure.typepad.com/vintage_pleasure/ (just checked, its a UK one too)
Not necessarily all about frugality, most of them like vintage style stuff and crafts but great to read.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
