Crack in rendering - reported in our survey.

We just got our survey back and they noticed a crack in the rendering about the living room window, it was rated as a 2. He said on the report that it would need to be repaired or a chunk could fall off.

Does anyone have an idea on how to repair it? Is it a DIY job or do we need a professional out- if so, what kind of contractor am I looking for?

Yo are looking for a plasterer or a jobbing builder who can do such repairs. No one can tell you a price without seeing the site and the access: the render may be blown over a wider area and need hacking off. The price is the based on the area involved. Since it appears to be non-structural, its not a serious or expensive issue.

We had similar but it was quite a large crack! We bought in winter and had hoped to wait until the spring to have the area re-rendered but a storm came along and one night a chunk fell off and damaged roof tiles below We then got the builders in pretty quickly to hack the rest of and re-render.


I'd get someone in to take a look and quote for what will need doing
