Taylor Wimpey Reservation Fee

Hi

My partner and I are looking to buy a Taylor Wimpey property on the estate we are already renting on. We want to reserve the property ASAP as it's the last one left until the next phase goes ahead in a few months. The sales office is only open on certain days and at certain times and only I can attend due to my partner working away for the next few days. There are no other appointments for about ten days once he's back and we don't want to wait that long.

My question is, do we both have to attend to pay the reservation fee? What kind of docs will I have to sign? I've contacted Taylor Wimpey about the process and been told they will look into it for this particular development but haven't had a further reply yet.

Thanks

I reserved our property on the Friday am but was unable to get hubby down to sign the paperwork until the Sunday and they were fine about that. Not sure if they would wait much longer though. X

That's good to know, hopefully we can sort something.

I've also just been told by a neighbour who used to work for Taylor Wimpey that before we can even pay the reservation fee we have to be "qualified" by contacting a local company called In Touch who are mortgage advisors. I was under the impression you could pay the fee first and then arrange an advisor to start the mortgage application?! I've been told so many different things by different people, most of which are Taylor Wimpey buyers!

We are in the process of buying a new build, not Taylor Wimpey, and we had to have a offer in principle to reserve

We had our DIP before reserving and our property also had to be sold but it's a very popular site. Best of luck. X
  • We are in the process of exchanging on a Taylor Wimpey new build. I work shift so was unable to make it up to the sales office. We were first 'qualified' essentially speaking to they're recommended advisors, then we got a DIP over the phone. We were then able to pay the reservation over the phone and get to the sales office when we could. Both parties need to be there to sign the reservation docs if it's a joint purchase.
