Refunds and cashback question

I paid for a car insurance policy on my cashback CC. I had to cancel it and have got a partial refund on the same CC account.
At the time of the payment, the cashback was at the introductory rate of 4%. However, the introductory period has now finished and the rate is back down to 1%.
So, will the cashback on the refund be credited at 1% or 4%?

The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

I take it you actually mean at -4% or -1% of the refund? deducted from you cash back.
I think you may be lucky and it will come off at -1%, you will just have to wait and see, don't ask them.0
