Good day fine folk of the forum
I received a PCN for an overstay of 17 minutes against the time paid for.
Foolishly, I think I've given the game away with regards to admitting I was the driver in my appeal. Smart Parking appeal is an online form and I now have no record of exactly what I wrote.
My question is shall I bother with a POPLA appeal now, if so on what basis shall I be appealing?...or just cough up

The answer to your question is of course you should bother with poplA.
So forget about coughing up and put together a draft appeal.
Lots of advice in the newbies FAQ thread
Then put it up for comments

No-one here pays Smart Parking. Only an idiot would, IMHO.
Do the usual POPLA draft based on the NEWBIES thread post #3 and show us what you plan to submit.
In the meantime, if there is a landowner/retailer to complain to, COMPLAIN FIRST.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Loads and loads and loads of people name the driver in their naive first appeals, before coming here.
Search the forum for 'shoot toes off' if you want to see how common it is. Doesn't stop people doing POPLA.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
