Hi
Thinking of swapping my dual-fuel energy from British Gas to Scottish Power (via Moneysupermarket.com for £30 cash).
Anyone had any problems with Scottish Power?
Thanks

I'm with scottish power for my electricity and have never had any probs. And the call centre is excellent, straight through to an agent after about 1 min to give my meter reading!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.84 December 25
% of house owned/% of mortgage paid off. December 25 - 40.34%/33.36%

Same here - been with them 18 months now with dual fuel - do it all online and read own meter so know how much we're spending

been with them for 3 years on duel fuel all done on line and no hassle straight through to customer services so very impressed with them.0

Me too, been with them about 3 yrs for dualfuel and do everything online, put in my own meter readings also.. I especially like the graphs to compare energy usage over the year on the website. I have been able to see how much I have saved since having the cavity wall insulation put in... I would recommend them...as long as you have checked if they are your cheapest option...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Likewise, changed to SP this year after a nightmare of a time with British Gas - same satisfaction as the previous posters in this thread.0

Good point made by tanith. When deregulation happened all the big players BG Scottish Southern npower etc all made massive inroads out of their own area! so if you are in say scotland scottish power probably wont be a good deal. but npower would be . It is generally hard to keep abreast of the changes. The utilities wharehouse is alos a good deal but much better if you put all your services with them because you do pay a membership fee.0

We're in the process of switching to them after u-switch.com pointed us in their direction, and we checked the ratings and compared tariffs (we're with EDF at the moment). Though with this postal strike, it may be a while before the ball gets rolling

Yep, I found them great too. I only changed because I got a better deal elsewhere (for now ...)Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j0 -

Suppliers originated from the old public area they supplied prior to de-regulation hence they already owned every customer on that region. However, there were rules imposed on them so that they could not be as competetive as an "out of area" Supplier.
Good for competition but very bad for anyone in that area who wanted to stay with that old Supplier as it made it harder to justify due to the cost. So, the companies actively went for the out of area customers who they could poach with the offer of "we can beat you old local Supplier".
I don't think this is true anymore though. Things have tilted more in favour of the consumer from that point of view but it's worth remembering that Suppliers target certain groups so it's worth comparing to find the cheapest.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
