Can anyone tell me why a will (of someone who died after 1996 who definitely had a will) wouldn't be listed on here https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills
I tried to find the answer on the site and failed.

If the will has not been admitted to probate it will not be listed.0

Thanks.
Is there any time scale in which the executor should apply for probate?0 -
There is no hard and fast rule but executors are usually expected to deal with the estate within a year. The estate may have been too small to require probate.or if the estate went just to one person probate may not have been needed.OneYorkshireLass wrote: »Thanks.

If the estate was relatively small and there was no property involved, then it is quite possible to wind it up without the need to go through probate.0
