I would have a go at giving it a oil change and a flush as this will normally quiet tappets alot and if it is them you will then know, the noise might not go straight after its been started but leave it running for a few mins and if it goes or gets quieter its most likely just noisy tappets. From what i can find out they shouldn't be to much of an issue being noisy as long as you keep up with regular oil changes and make sure theres enough oil in it. However can cost a bit to fix as it requires work to be done to the camshaft.0
