Parking Permit - guest

Options
Hi after a little bit of advice - on whether to do anything with this, or just accept it now and pay.

I drove down to visit my family (3 hour drive). We parked in their street at 09:30. Took kids out and walked to their house (it's near London so parking is bad) - probably parked 2-300 metres from their house. Got into the house said our hello's, put kids in the living room and then filled out the parking permit for guests (scratch one). I asked the time and it was 09:37.

Got back to my car at 09:41 to put the permit and I already had a ticket! read the ticket and it says car was observed from 09:31 - 09:36. Looks like as soon as I got out the car the traffic warden watched (although i didn't see him/her anywhere).

I appealed saying I simply parked - walked to the house got the permit and came back. They just replied saying car was observed for 5 mins and my appeal failed - I can appeal again but file will double.

It's only £35 now but has really annoyed me. I understand the 5 mins if its pay as you display and the machine is near but parking around there could take a few mins just to walk over.

I know in future to get there and ask them to come to me with the permit

if this is council, you need to join pepipoo forums using a gmail email address and post it in their council section

we generally deal with PRIVATE parking tickets on here

if it is private , then name the PPC

Just posted then realised this is probably a proper council ticket. There are often flaws in the paperwork that you can use to appeal on.

Try Pepipoo unless this is a private company.
  • thanks yes its Watford council - will take a look

    thanks again

there you go, show them the PCN, BOTH SIDES PLEASE!

No Hotmail email addies are allowed to register on there, but they can help beat over 90% of council PCNs. Sounds unreasonable and possibly winnable at the next stages.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
