    If you hadn't realised it wasn't further education are you aware that if it is higher he may have to pay for it?


    You (or he) need to find our pretty quickly what exactly he is doing and what the fees are likely to be.

    You say he has a job but its for travel, does he only work a few hours a week or is his travel costs ridiculously high? Because even working 12 hours a week would bolster his income quite a bit, even if its NMW for 18 year olds.
