it only takes few people to defame you . There is 5 of them like best friends and strongly back each other up no matter how unreasonable they are
I am only staying due to some flexibility which i am not starting to question and hence why i i have posted here
Don't think i can change myself to please them0 -
There is a management meeting going on in my place at the moment, and it is pretty quiet so I can catch up on things on this forum.
Randomi, are you maybe older than the members of this clique?
Is there anything which marks you out as being different to them?
It is sad but true, that there is more bullying in the workplace nowadays, and I wonder if the social networking side of things has caused more people to be very shallow.
I should be at this meeting, but have not been invited, which I look on as a plus, because often it is just an excuse for some of the people to criticise other workers (often the quiet, efficient ones) behing their backs - I think I can feel the knife points in my back at the moment;)
I used to advise people to just try to keep work and private life apart and never worry about what the "office politics" are. However, you often have to work as a team, and if there is a toxic atmosphere then productivity suffers.
It should be down to a good boss to spot signs that bullying or exclusion is going on, and then nip it in the bud by confronting the ringleaders. That of course assumes that the boss is not part of the clique.0 -
I think he is as to my face he is very nice but very brief but to them seems like best mate
I am same age group and younger than some but i think what make me different is i don't have the same personality.
I remember one of them used to open up and talk on why he doesn't like them etc but also said he is trying to be part of them
Sure enough, he sucked up enough and he is now part of the club and has totally changed
I want to treat people as humans but i don't think that is their view0 -
Well OP. Some of them don't even have degrees! That's completely unacceptable. Fancy that. And you still haven't actually explained what they do or why they need to include you in conversations. Just because they don't have college degrees (and from your attitude I assume that you have?) doesn't mean that they should consult you about anything. I appreciate there is always two sides to every story, and I'm beginning to see their side - if the way you have spoken here is indicative of your attitude, I maybe would have a problem with you too. Actually, make that definitely.0
