Moving a water meter

    The only thing they possibly would be concerned with someone moving there meter is you could in theory move the meter to under the sink where you want and leave it connected to just your kitchen sink and then the rest of the house connected to where the meter used to be. With pipes disappearing behind units it wouldn't be easy for them to know on a visual inspection.

    Alex, I think you're probably right in that it's to stop customers from "hacking" their supply. I live alone and have a low bill anyway so it's not worth the risk for me.

    I guess I'm more interested about whether anyone has actually been caught and what the repercussions were. I think I'll probably go for it and photograph the installation as it's done to try and avoid them making me rip the floor up if they're feeling particularly vindictive should they ever find out.

    And as was said above, they sit outside and scan the water meter from there
