Has anyone reclaimed bank charges back more than 6 years ago? I have requested HSBC to provide me the statements since 2000, that's if they have the statements. If they do, can I reclaim since 2000?

What charges are you referring to and why do you think they have been applied incorrectly?
If you are on about overdraft/borrowing charges then no. You missed that boat. The banks won that court case in 2009.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Interest has never been reclaimable.
And as mentioned, the banks won the "unfair" charges case in 2009. Prior to that, you could reclaim but no chance now that charges from 2004 would be refunded.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I was looking into this recently. I read that from 2009 it was very unlike but there has been some cases where people have managed to claim back more recently.0

Since 2009, banks only consider
1 - incorrect application (i.e. charge made in error)
2 - CURRENT financial hardship cases for existing customer.
if in current financial hardship and still a customer of that bank, then the bank has a range of options open to it. This includes refunding charges as well as suspending future charges for a period or working out a debt repayment plan. Where charges form part of the response, it is typically just recent charges (often no more than the last 6-12 months). It all depends on the severity of the financial hardship.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
