Car Insurance Quote after multiple accidents

Options
I am a new driver. 2 years this month.

cut to the chase. I've had 3 accidents.

1. A write off - £1400 punto. No ther party involved. At fault.

2. Minor collision with parked car. £500 damage. At fault.

3. Write off - £7500 Honda Insight. Rear ended on motorway. Not at fault, but this is ridiculously being disputed by other party.

So, when I use comparison sites for insurance renewal I am mostly looking at circa £1500+ by stating that I was at fault for 1+2 but not 3.

However, if I say I'm at fault for 1,2+3 I am getting a quote for £600.

How is this possible???

Maybe do an advance driving course. Might help you in anticipation and concentration and in turn might help towards the cost of your insurance.
  • very good. I will take your advice and apply it to my ever growing list of self improvement tips from !!!! heads list.

My query was not how to control the spiralling cost of post accident motor insurance. It was how can taking responsibility for a very expensive accident lower the cost of my quote by £900.

I appreciate that I am easy fodder for trolling after the misfortune of so many accidents in my first year driving. But I'd rather you didn't.

Insurance is based on a lot of different variables, there is no way to know pinpoint exactly why the costs are like this.

With an attitude like yours I'm not suprised you are in the situation you are in. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS

If claim 3 is outstanding you need to declare it as a fault until settled

It maybe that because by declaring the 3 claims accurately i.e. All fault the checks the insurer does are coming back correct so they are happy to rate. Whereas when you are putting it in as non-fault it's throwing the checks out just an idea

I'm sorry, I'm not sure that MY attitude is the problem here. What are you actually talking about?

I simply asked if anyone could help explain the at fault status of my 3rd accident resulting i a £900 drop in my insurance quote. I received a trolling reply which had nothing to do with the insurance quote, it was just a dig at my driving.

    I responded aptly.

Now you are having a go at me.

This is a thread on a forum designed to offer advice and guidance. If I wanted critiqued on my driving I'd go to the Advanced School of Motor drivers forum and tell them I'm the best driver in the world.

As it is, I don't give a flying !!!! what anyone has to say about my driving, it is irrelevent to my thread.

I was initially looking ahead to my renewal, Jan '18. So I entered the 3rd accident as 'not at fault', as by that time it should be settled, and I will have 1 year NCB.

I then thought what you did, about the status being different on the system, so put in the current status of 'at fault' and no NCB.

I double checked all the details, made sure my mileage etc was accurate and got the £600 quote.

I have cancelled my current policy and start saving £100 pcm as of August.

    It is totally bizzare.

The premium may increase when you update the Insurers that the claim is non fault

If you have cancelled your policy before the end of the term you will not get a years ncb

Why would you cancel if the claim hasn't been settled?
