Private eye PCN! Pls help!

Hi everybody.
I have gone through the threads regarding pcn's from private car parks. There is lots of information and I am overwhelmed. Not sure what info I can use to fight the one I received.
The driver parked at Asda on child and parent bay as there weren't enough parking space available. Purchased a ticket and displayed it in the car. The tickets are refundable at checkout.
Upon returning to the car park, the driver discovered a ticket slapped on the windscreen. The driver took the ticket and looked around, the parking attendant found it amusing and was laughing them. The driver attempted to reason with the attendant, but the attendant just laughed and said to appeal and walked away. The driver went to the customer service but they weren't interested and said it wasn't anything to do with them. Not helpful at all and very rude!
I received the ticket by post and another reminder. But foolishly I just ignored as was fuming. I know that I am definitely out of appeal deadline.
Can someone please guide me what to do. I want to fight it please.
I believe that the attendant was hiding, and when he saw that we have left the car, he came and issued the ticket. I just learnt from the mumsnet website that the attendants at Asda usually check the cars that are parked on these bays, if the car seats are not seen in the car, they assume the child is not present and slap the ticket without actually proving that. Are they not supposed to inform the driver not to park there, and if the driver refuses then to warn and issue the ticket?
Please help!

The Newbies Sticky at the top of this will walk you through a successful PE appeal.
Start by reading it carefully before replying to them.

Remember, never admit who was driving and never rely on any actual facts about what happened - People simply do not care!

    Private eye PCN

Ian Hislop been issuing PCNs again then?!
I know that I am definitely out of appeal deadline.

If it is ParkingEye they will consider a late appeal. You can bung an appeal in at any stage on their website (NOT saying who was driving).

What did Asda Head Office say when you screeched at them on the phone with a complaint? I would. This is Asda's fault and they can cancel these very easily. So can Store Managers - they do so every week - they used to have Smart Parking there in their stores and now ParkingEye (worse, Asda must be mad). Do not comment as to whether you had a child with you (unless you did), how could they tell if you were picking up your family from inside Asda or dropping off?

In the appeal, send the usual one online (the appeal template in blue writing, from the NEWBIES thread - do not question it).

What's the gap in calendar days between the PCN on windscreen and the receipt of the first postal notice? Exactly?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

its PARKING EYE , not "private eye" , the latter is a magazine run by Ian Hislop of HIGNFY fame !!

as for the questions , its private land so they can almost do as they please

follow the BPA advice and blue text template and appeal online as KEEPER on their site ( not private eye , lol)

and go to the main asda website and put a complaint in with reference number in their complaints section (this raises a trouble ticket) - add proof of patronage like copies of receipts and redacted bank statements , complaining about it and how you wont be shopping there again
  • Thanks for your adv.
The windscreen ticket was issued on 08/05/17 and in the post on 08/06/17. Notice said to pay by 06/07/17. Haven't heard from them again.
Just to make sure I don't make a mistake, am I appealing on PE website? And the appeal template in blue ink (regarding signage?)
Pls excuse me if I make a mistake, I have never used any forums in my life before.
    Thanks

and dont forget , add redacted copies of any receipts or bank statements for asda on the day in question , without inferring who was driving

so use the blue text appeal, as KEEPER, on their website , and upload proof of patronage

and dont forget to do the same on the asda site , except on there you write a personal complaint letter (not the blue text template) , adding proof of patronage to asda , not just on that day but over any recent period you like

ie:- prove you are a paying customer and their parking company are draconian and over zealous
  • Thank you guys. You have all been great.
I have sent the appeal via PE website and uploaded proof of purchase and parking (Asda) ticket.
Will let you know of any developments.
  • I have an update!
Just received an email from PE stating that as a "gesture of goodwill" they have cancelled the parking charge!!
My request for PE to make a payment of £250 is rejected as I have not formed a legally binding contract with them!
I cannot thank you guys enough for your valuable advise and support.
I await to hear from Asda.
