Please be gentle with any responses - I'm not good with technology and have got myself in to an almighty pickle.
Last week I purchased a Lenovo Ideal pad MIIX 310.
It was intended to used by my child for school work and playing games so specifically wanted something easy to use especially as I'm not tech savvy so can only offer limited help myself.
I have turned it on and it asked to set up an outlook email address to set it up. Now everyone is entitled to their own opinion but personally I hate the layout, I can't find my way about, I think its awful. I rang customer services at argos and explained the situation and was told I could return it to a store for a full refund.
Now, this is where I am in a pickle. The store checked the condition of the item (fair enough) but it came up with a screen requesting a password. Stupidly when I set up the email address I thought it was like when I got a tablet, it is just to connect you to the app store and I only ever download free games so have no reason or intention of using the email address. I have never once used or needed the email address I set up for my tablet. Clearly it appears you need the password to get in to the ideal pad...
Argos have said they need the password to get in so they can restore to factory settings but I don't know what the password is. I have tried clicking on forgotten your password and completed my date of birth and address then it asks me for a list of other passwords and other accounts I have but I have none unless you count a hotmail aaccount from 20 years ago and goodness knows the details for that. It simply says it doesnt have enough information to verify its me please try again but I have no further information to add!
There doesn't seem to be anyway to contact outlook email to get their help and there isnt an instruction book in the box.
How do I get the password so I get in to the ideal pad or can I restore it to factory settings without logging in?
I really hope some one can help me? Please......

Try pressing and holding down the SHIFT key and whilst holding it down, pressing the POWER button. Hopefully it should boot on to a screen that offers you the option of Troubleshoot > Reset My PC > Remove Everything0

There is also another option, the Novo button. For that you will need a paper clip. Should be on the left side of the machine. Just pushing that whilst the machine is off should open up a menu from where you can choose System Recovery.0

The password is the one you used when you set up the Outlook email address. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
