Where is the best place to buy a genuine Samsung battery? The phone it's to be used in is a Samsung E1270 - a very basic, dumb flip-top phone (I don't need anything flashy).
This one:

I can't see any on Samsung's online store, and other online listings are probably for fakes.

I don't know about mobile phones, but I've just had difficulty finding a kosher Samsung battery for my laptop.
The problem turned out to be that the correct battery is commonly known by a completely different type number to the one printed on the battery. Once I found that out, there were plenty of suppliers available.
(My laptop battery type no. is "AA-PB9NC6B", but Samsung told me the correct replacement type was "BA43-00282A". When the replacement arrived, that too was marked "AA-PB9NC6B", although "BA43-00282A" appeared within part of the serial number.)0 -
If you can't get one from Samsung I would visit a local phone accessory shop. At least if they sell you a fake you have somewhere to return it.
Probably not a problem with you phone but the NFC Antenna is built into some batteries so you need to buy genuine if you still want to use NFC
Having said that you can probably buy another 'dumb' phone at asda for the price of a new battery"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -
I've used Mobile Fun for replacement Samsung batteries before. Genuine batteries and reasonable prices.0

This is the company Samsung referred me to for a genuine Samsung laptop battery, I can't find your model, but they have an enquiry page.0
