Currys Price Match Con

I just paid for a lithium ion battery via Currys at £104.99 when everywhere else was £85 ish
I found a price match for Argos at £85...
Noticing their price promise, I spoke on the phone to an agent who wasnt very helpful, at first not even mentioning Argos as being one of the retailers for their price promise.
I bought the item at £104.99 using a £20 currys voucher and then called back to confirm the price promise.
Instead of refunding my credit card £19.99 they are splitting it 81% to 19% back to credit card and currys voucher!
This seems a bit of a con. Now I have £3 something on a voucher and I have to use it with currys again!
Is this ok?

Why did you do that?
Probably because the OP had a £20 voucher they wanted to use at Currys?
To answer the question though, I think Currys is within their rights to do this. If you still want to buy the battery at Currys is it possible to return it, get the voucher and card reimbursed and then start a new purchase with them, showing the price match from Argos at the time of purchase to the cashier to get the discount applied then and there?0 -
Ok yes it's ok, in fact you got off lightly usually they refund all the voucher credit back to a new voucher first so I think you go off lightly.0
