Asda £500 gift card offer

My browser just defaulted to Asda that said I had been chosen for a free £500 gift card if I filled in a very short survey. It was very professional and even sited my local Asda store so I filled it in with name, address, email and mobile number. After entering my phone number the screen just stayed green and didn't move on to any confirmation. I checked my email and had an email welcoming me to "Inbox Pounds", some kind of reward site which seems legit.

What has happened, will there be £500 winding it's way to me from Asda as was stated ?

There is talk of introducing a license to be allowed to fly drones. Perhaps a "internet license" and a training course before you are allowed on is also required ?

I have experience with scams and smell them a mile off but this was Asda as it even flagged up my local store. I will report the gift card if it arrives.

The fact that you are still holding out hope of receiving the card would imply otherwise

It's a well known scam (ASDA have put warnings on Facebook about them a few times) so the chances of the gift card arriving is about the same as finding a rainbow coloured unicorn in your garden I am afraid.

A few emails coming through of things I DIDN'T subscribe to like "Wether Weather"

I am also getting texts about euromillions I don't want to reply with "stop" incase I get charged.

You've been socially engineered into a giving up personal details, there is no £500 gift card, and this nothing to do with Asda.

In short, you've been scammed into handing over your phone number and e-mail address to spammers / scammers etc.

If someone in the street asked you for those details you would not just hand them over - so do not do it online either!

I would check your browser for mailware if it took you to Asda fake site, as others have said its a well known scam to get your details. To many people give up too much personnel information out this way as well as social media, its well known for scammers to glee information like this for purposes such as fraud.
