Get more quotes, but bear in mind some pointers. I have no idea whether your quote includes kitchen units, or sanitary ware, nor Planning, Buildings Regulations, foundation details access or a host of other matters. The square metre cost comes out around £2000 + VAT. This is a spot on figure. Could be cheaper in some locations, and some finishes, maybe £2000 with VAT, and dearer in others like London.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me, without any units being fitted. There is no economy of scale on a job like that.

. It doesn't include internal fittings but does include Buildings control, no planning needed.

It's always best to focus on the good stuff

Small extensions have a much higher per square metre rate than large areas. For instance digging foundations on an extension twice this size, wont take twice as long, nor will laying bricks.


Your quote is probably right, but you need to get other quotes.
