Morning 😀
The rain has stopped 🙂. No sun yet but I think it’s forecast to appear later.
Thank you all so much for your good wishes, I’m still processing - it’s been such a focus that I can’t quite believe it’s gone!
Your comment about my dad brought a lump to my throat Purps 😘. You’re right, he would have been so chuffed for me. He wasn’t the gushing type but he had a very expressive face!
This week has gone so fast😱. I’ve been into work for a couple of days to make sure my classroom is Covid-19 ready for when we go back to full classes in September. It’s been a good opportunity for a declutter and it’s looking ok but I’ve still got all the new displays, book labels , individual resources etc to do so I’m going in again next week. That will just leave my planning which I’ll do the week before I go back so it’s fresh in my mind. That’s going to have to be flexible though as some of them haven’t been in school for 6 months.
Talking of teaching, has anyone heard from Wish? Hope she’s just busy having a fab, frugal life.
In terms of my goals I’ve set up my new avc contribution so that should be collected from this month. I’ve currently got my savings in a Goldman Sachs Marcus account. The bonus rate has finished but it’s still paying 1.05% so I’ll leave them where they are. I also have a FD regular saver which matures in September so I’ll need to apply for another one (no more 5% interest though 😕). My CB regular saver still has a while to run.
In terms of what I need to save, I’m still mulling over kitchen/extension ideas so I’ll get some quotes organised as soon as I’ve decided then I’ll have a definite goal.
Wellbeing goals are going well, not least because after 5 debilitating years I’ve been able to get a divorce. Something else that feels a bit surreal- it felt like it was never going to happen.
I’m continuing with my self care but my routine has slipped a bit so I need to get that sorted. I’ve got plans with friends next week and I’m going to organise an evening when my sisters can come round for dinner as we’ve not all been together for ages.
Physical health is also ok. I’m running and walking a lot but my strength routine has slipped - must try harder!
Today’s plans include;
A long walk
Laundry
Hoovering downstairs
Fridge sort out and general inventory
Meal plan for next week
Finalise my accounts
Happy Thursday 😀

Hi Pinky
So pleased to see you back and that things are going well. Congratulations on achieving mortgage neutrality. That is such a great achievement on your own. It feel great doesn't it. Such a feeling of security to know that your home is effectively paid for : D
I've lost a bit of my MSE mojo too during lockdown, but hoping to get a bit more focussed again now x7 -
Evening 😀
Hiya Busy - good to ‘see you’. I’m still catching up on diaries but I hope OH’s retirement is going ok - what a start he’s had to his new life 😱😱. You’re right about the security, it still feels surreal when I remind myself that the house is all mine 😀😀
Cheery - I’m just reading about your chickens - I’m so sorry you’ve lost some of your beloved ladies 😢
I’ve had a really nice day today. It’s been lovely and warm but not too hot so it’s been lovely to be out and about. I took the dog for a long walk this morning and then went into work ( had a productive day so I’m almost done). When I got home I sat in the garden and read my book until it cooled down a bit and then went for another long dog walk. I live in a very picturesque, rural county and although I’ve always loved it, lockdown had made me truly appreciate it.
Today’s small steps to success and wellbeing included;
A good night’s sleep - i never woke until 7.30 which is very rare for me!
Two lovely walks in beautiful countryside
A productive day at work
A nice chat with my sister
Arranged to see a friend ,who I’ve not seen for 4 months, for lunch next week
Called in to see mum who was in good spirits.
Cheap, healthy eats ( overnight oats with red berries for breakfast, baked potato, beans and a salad for lunch, hm mushroom and spinach lasagne from the freezer with salad for dinner),
Sensible and healthy snacking - a piece of fat free banana bread for elevenses and some hm mango ice cream when I got home from work. Just blitz frozen mango in the FP with a bit of fat free Greek yogurt. It’s yummy, healthy and satisfies my sweet tooth!
A NSD apart from filling up the car
A nice relaxed evening - in my pjs by 8.30 watching The Crown - bliss 😀😀
Happy Friday, have a lovely , sunny weekend 😀

Morning 😀
The weather is gorgeous, really lifts the spirits!
I was awake early but I’ve had a coffee in bed and a read of my book which I never tire of - it feels like such a treat (even though I do it most days😂).
I got through my to do list yesterday so feeling quite motivated today. I’ve had some work done on the house which is now finished but there was a really-plastered wall and some new woodwork which needed painting. I was waiting for the plaster to dry out but given that it’s been months I think that ‘reason’ is looking a bit lame even to me 🙄. Anyhoo - it’s done and that part of the house looks so nice. It did make me notice that the hall, stairs and landing had a few marks and chips so I did a quick touch up while I had the paint out - what a difference it made, it looks so much better and probably took me an hour. I always put these things off and then when I actually do I wonder why I faffed about for so long!
Other small steps to happiness and wellbeing included;
A good nights sleep - never think I’m stressed during term time but I clearly am as my sleep patterns are much better in the holidays.
Got out for a run before it got too hot ( it was still very hot 🥵😂)
Cheap, healthy eats (overnight oats and hm granola for breakfast, hm roast tomato soup and egg salad for lunch and YS tuna steaks and salad for dinner)
Sensible amounts of healthy snacking
Took the dog out for a good, long walk once it cooled down
Finished DIY using paint from the garage so no spends
Changed my bed - love fresh, line dried sheets 😀
Went to see mum
Did food shop (find later on at night is so quiet ). £28.37 so pleased with that.
Watched two episodes of the crown
The dog’s breakfast should have settled by now (I worry about bloat 😱) so by the time I’ve got up and dressed it’ll be ok to get our for a walk before it gets too hot.
The rest of the day is going to be giving the hall, stairs and landing a good clean (getting close up yesterday revealed a few sins 🙄) and a potter in the garden.
Happy Sunday to you 😀
