OMG I am so confused! Not sure if my subscribed threads are still there as I’ve gone from zillions of email notifications to none since a fiddled with the settings.
Too much change for my fuddled brain
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. We are off for a run before the storms descend and then an afternoon of pottering and relaxing 😊

Pinky you'll find your subscribed threads in 'bookmarks' at the top of the page. I'm also finding the new format extremely perplexing, but I think the tinkering is still ongoing so hopefully we'll all get there in the end!I Believe.....

On the 'old' forum, I used to go to my subscribed threads and then click and it would take me to the first unread post in that diary - not sure how to do that yet... any ideas?Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Evening 😀
Thank you for all your help - I’m still not really on top of these forum changes! It feels like one step forward and two steps back 😱
In other news we have had a hammering at the hands of Ciara and now the snow has started. Feel so sorry for all the flood victims- it must be absolutely horrible.
As a result of my hiatus (!) I’m so behind with everything so I’ll endeavour to catch up. I finished 2019 with a mortgage balance of £20,740.66 which was a capital reduction of£30,579.24 😀😀
January saw me taking a slight step back as I had tax to pay but by battening down the hatches in January I managed to cover this without too much damage to my totals. In fact my mortgage balance once I’d paid my tax bill was £21,446.02 so that will be my starting point for this year.
My goal is to be mortgage neutral by the end of the year and I’d also like to add to my pension. I’m still uncertain how to go about this - hit the mortgage and then focus on the pension, a bit of both or hit the pension and don’t op the mortgage.
It’s the MFW dilemma 😂😂. Logically it should be pension all the way but psychologically I want the mortgage gone so I think it’s going to be clear the mortgage and do what I can with the pension and then throw everything at my additional pension from January 2021. I would also like to continue with my four day week which has made a HUGE difference to my life.
In terms of my other goals I’m trying to stay focused.
Physical health
I’ve eaten well and drank a reasonable amount of water.
Last week I did 2 spin classes, Boxfit and two runs 😀
Until last night I was sleeping well 😡. Hope last night was just a blip.
On the less positive side I’m coming down with yet another cold 😡
Mental Health
This is generally good, I’m taking time to relax (reading, podcasts, face masks and bubble baths).
I’ve been positive most of the time with one minor stumble over the weekend. I felt I coped with it better though so that’s progress.
Financial
Meal planning is going well and I’m on track with the budget.
Personal spends have been low - just an early bird dinner with a friend which was £7 well spent.
I’ve had lots of nsds but I’ve had a couple of £5 ‘popping in for milk’ shops. This needs to stop 🙄
I’ve also done a much needed cupboard and freezer sort out and inventory so the next two weeks will be using up - no excuses !😂
It’s half term next week and we are planning a staycation 😀 so hopefully spends will be low. I’d also like to get a few jobs done but I’m not going to be ridiculous about it - I shall see how I feel.
Hope you’re all safe and sound after the weekend weather. Have a good rest of the week

Evening 😀
Made it to half term 😀😀. As usual I have a pile of writing assessments that I didn’t get marked to keep me company but I’m not going to think about those just yet!
I’m having a rather lovely staycation with Mr PP . It’s such a beautiful city and a real contrast to my equally lovely rural home . A two centred life is not without it’s challenges but we are lucky to have two great places to move between. We are focussing on the things each location has to offer rather than the challenges (and associated costs😱). This week will be making the most of beautiful buildings, picturesque runs and some rather spectacular national treasures.
Yesterday was such a treat, just wandering around and taking in the sights followed by a hm curry and a film on Netflix. Valentine’s gifts were of the thrifty and thoughtful variety - so glad we are both on the same page with that sort of thing.
The weather today is not sightseeing weather 😱😂. We got out for a run this morning before the worst of the wind and rain hit followed by a cosy day at home. I had a long bubble bath after my rain soaked run and spent the rest of the day reading and putting together a roast dinner - it’s been so nice (and involved no spending!).
I’m now looking forward to a cosy night in with a new box set and a glass of something nice but non alcoholic. We did Dry January and after a challenging first weekend we both felt so much better we are going to carry on until we choose to stop! The biggest difference I’ve noticed is in my sleep patterns. I’m not a big drinker but do enjoy a glass of wine which I have now realised is often followed by a poor night’s sleep. Not sure how long we’ll keep it up though 🙄.
I’m also going to spend a bit of time reflecting on my week in terms of my goals before I do a proper weekly update.
Hope everyone has managed to avoid flood/storm damage. What a week for weather - the images on the news have just been awful😕
Happy Saturday to you 😊

How lovely, PP
I'm really pleased that your two centre life is working so well for you. Your weekend sounds idyllic in spite of the weather!
