Anyone please advise me how to dispose of an old recliner chair ?

Hi all,
I tried British Heart foundation but they declined as there was a slight tear in one of the cushions. I won't try any other charities as they will probably decline like BHS so I will have to pay.
I have tried my local council who want £30 to collect. I have got phone numbers for Furniture village and DFS, who I will try on Monday.
Has anyone got any other suggestions or advice ?
Thanks

Try a local buy/sell group on Facebook? If you offer it free for collection I'm sure someone would want it.0

You could try advertising it on gumtree/nextdoor or local facebook pages a a free to uplift item, especially if its still in useable conditionI got ham but i'm not a hamster.....0

Just because the BHF is picky, doesn't mean any other charity will be. It can't hurt to try them.0

Freegle/freecycle it. If you put pictures up with the tear, people can decide if it's any use to them. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Put it on Freegle or Freecycle.
Give it away on Gumtree or Preloved0 -
Usual advice for anything you want to get rid of: put it outside, someone will take it.0

Take an axe to it. We did this with an old sofa the cat had ruined with scratching - we knew no-one would want it, we couldn't afford to get the council to take it away, it wouldn't fit in the boot of the car, so we spent a fun evening breaking it up with an axe and took it to the tip in installments. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0

I did this with an old armchair. Removed upholstery and found there was some decent wood inside which I used to make a picture frame. The seat cushion was useful as a kneeling pad when gardening, the rest I broke up and took to the tip.
Or, as one person says, put it on the front with a note on it 'please take if you want it'.

Free to collector on gumtree - never fails in my experience.0
