Blue Badge and exceeding 3 hours help?

Options
Hello,

I am trying to find out some information about my blue badge and parking.

Today im taking the kids to the cinema for my daughters birthday, however with me being disabled I shall be parking using my blue badge. However I know due to needing to get to the cinema early to get tickets and adverts/trailers then watching the film and returning back to the car it will exceed the 3 hours. Legally what am I suppose to do? I have it im my mind that if I was to be 4 hours I should also buy a 1 hour ticket on top of my 3 hours, or does my disabled badge not have any use at all apart from parking position and I need to buy the full 4 hours? This is a council car park by the way where we will be parking. But with it being Saturday I cannot contact anyone to ask.

Thanks all.

I would think that to cover yourself, buy a 1 hr ticket and display the BB with the clock set at the expiry time of the ticket.

Thsi assumes that BB holders can park for free.

If you only get 3 hours free but have to pay for longer stays then do so.

The parking signs will tell you if your blue badge allows free parking and for how long

Thankyou, the car park does allow 3 hours free parking. It just does not say anything about what happens if you were to exceed the 3 hours apart from you will be fined jargon you see on the board. They need a section telling disabled people that if they need longer than the 3 hours, then purchase a ticket in relation to how long you need.

If I got there for 13:00 then buy a 1 hour ticket and set my clock to 14:00 with the one hour on display. Does that sound right to you?

    Thanks again

Unless the sign says different for bb holder you look to need to pay for four hours.

Does it say anything about bbs? Most council car parks say that you bbs can park for free with no limit.
