Section 27 Notice

HMRC wrote to say it'll take them eight weeks to decide whether tax is payable to or by my late mother's estate, so I decided to look st other ways of advancing things for my Probate application whilst I wait. When I read up on Section 27 notices, I began to wonder whether there's any point me placing one—the main reason being that they only protect executors/administrators and not beneficiaries. As the sole beneficiary of the estate it therefore seems pointless in spending the money on such a notice, especially when I have alrea established to the best of my knowledge that the only money owed will be to utility providers and only to cover charges incurred since she paid the last bill, so a few hundred pounds at most, if anything is owed at all. So is there any point me posting the notice?
