Washer Dryer warranty question

Hi
I have a Hotpoint washer dryer, that is just nine months old. I actually have this on an extended warranty from domestic and general who replaced the previous one with this one when it stopped working.
This machine has had four or five repair visits for the dryer and domestic and general have now decided to write this off and replace it. The old machine works well for washing, and dries okay but does take a long time and the sensor dry cycle is intermittent.
Would the machine still be covered under the original hotpoibt 10 year warranty if I wanted to sell it ? Domestic and general tell me they are "writing" it off but I keep the machine.
Many thanks.

As it's not the original machine then I'd imagine the original warranty would be useless for anyone buying it from you, so unless you are absolutely sure I wouldn't advertise it as having the remainder of the manufacturer's warranty. I assume you will be also be upfront about the issues it has?0

I believe that Domestic and General administer Hotpoint's 10 year warranty. i.e. They arrange warranty repairs/replacements.
Are D&G replacing the machine under Hotpoint's warranty, or do you have some kind of separate policy with D&G?0 -
Hi thanks for feedback
Yes advert clearly states the issue as well as the fact I can't confirm if warranty is in place and why. I have also offered people the chance to see it in action before they buy.
D&G have this on an extended warranty already, that I pay for. I haven't really considered that I shouldn't be paying for extended warranty just yet however. Whenever I call them, a Hotpoint engineer attends. I shall call and ask if they are acting as Hotpoint or writing it off as part of the extended warranty.
Thinking about this, should I be paying already? I activated the parts and labour warranty when the machine was delivered in September but never thought to cancel the policy.0 -
D&G are telling me that as the current machine was a replacement, despite me having emails saying it is under Hotpoint warranty, that the warranty was "removed" due to it being a replacement.
Can a manufacturer do that? I am going to sell it as no warranty so it won't affect me but I am now curious. I thought it was law about warranty?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks

One such condition could be that the warranty expires if the goods are replaced.
You will have to read your warranty documentation to find the answer.0 -
The machine has been written off and replaced, of course the warrant is void. This is pretty obvious tbh.0
