Last Will and Testament, advice needed.

Hi All
Looking for advice on a Last Will and Testament.
Unfortunately, a family member passed away this week, they did leave a will.
However, in the will it gives the persons old address and how they would like to give the proceeds from sale of the property on death out. However, the person sold their old house and moved in with the family. This means that there is no property, just the money left over from the sale and other assets.
It is very sad as the person was in the process of changing their will when they passed away, if the solicitors hadn't taken a week to send it out 2nd post we might have got it in time. The person did make a list of amendments that they wished to make and signed it. However obviously never signed the new will.
The solicitor has advised that it may go to probate. I assume they will look at all the documents when they decide on how to act on the estate. Taking into account the old will and the wishes on there (who get what share etc).

Unless someone challenges it the old will stands and the proposed amendments have no effect. However, if all the beneficiaries can agree then a Deed of Variation can be done to redistribute the estate. If one refuses then that plan would not be possible. Also if any beneficiaries are minors then a DOV cannot be done.Hi All
