    Morning all

Its been raining all night really heavily, its stopped now but the sky is still very black, we are meant to be going to an open air thing in the village tonight where you take your own booze and a picnic and sit and watch bands perform, but the weather says rain for most of the evening so I am not sure it will be on, it will be a shame if its cancelled as the money raised goes to the local parish.

Evie has her jabs this morning then home to clean through and then off to get a picnic for tonight (if its on)

WM is in the go and another load at least to go on, it will have to go on the airer today.

Gers congrats on the job :j

    Have good days all xx

Morning all, cool and grey here but not meant to rain until mid afternoon, probably famous last words. I have washing ready to go out and as it is towels, would like them to be dried outside.

Been up since 4 again, so will probably go to bed at the crack of dusk.

    Gers, congratulations, that's nice news.

I did the house jobs yesterday, but there is a smell of damp in the bathroom though, and the window is open all day so not sure where that is coming from. I'll see if it goes away with a drier day than yesterday, it poured for most of the day and overnight.

Hope everyone has as good a day as possible

Congrats Gers and glad your patient was good company.
Have good holidays nmlc and Judi.
Happy 6 weeks off HH, hope CHS isn't too badly injured.

I woke up about 6 and tried really hard to go back to sleep but gave up half an hour later. Ironing done and put away, a throw from the sofa has been washed (I dropped my dinner on it!), it's been on the line and is now back in again as the rain has begun.

Going to do some sewing today and visit the allotment, I've not been for ages and I'm sure the weeds will have taken over.

Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care. XX

    Morning all

Enjoy your holidays HH. Are you and CHS sailing the canals for the next 6 weeks?

Congrats on the new job Gers.

Sending healing vibes to Mr TA.

    Hugs and spoons to all.

It's cool here and everyone is hoping the rain stays away as it's the Harbour Festival here this weekend. OH has gone to give DD and DGS a lift home from Aldee as she lives on a hill and doesn't drive.

Not much is happening other than that unless DD has plans for us. I have a nice recipe for carrot cake so may make that later.

    Have a lovely Sunday all.

Good afternoon everyone, thanks to Holly for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one.

Congratulations on the new job Gers.

I had a wee trip to the monthly food makert this morning so lovely treats purchased. The weather hasn't been great so apart from that I've snoozed and read one of my library books. I've no plans for the rest of the weekend, will just take it as it comes.

I hope everyone has a good weekend x

Hello everyone I'm back . We managed to get home and put the van away before it poured down and it has rained heavily on and off since. So no washing will be done today, I will wait until we have better weather, probably on Monday.
Many thanks to all you lovely people for your support and kind words over the sudden death of Rafa pup. DD and DGS were devastated, cue quite a few long and upset phone calls to DH and I. But now they seem to have come to terms with the fact that it could have happened at anytime, as vet says that pup was born with the heart defect. DD did contact the breeder who refunded their money ( but she would have preferred to have her beloved Rafa :( ). They are having Rafa cremated and will bury him in the hole that he dug in their garden. DSil took charge of the situation and has booked them on a holiday to Orlando, flying on Wednesday ( they were going next year anyway ) . So hopefully they will have a good break and they have decided to get another puppy when they get back.
Anyway I'm off for a long soak in the bath and then PJ's on, showers are ok, but I think a nice bubble bath is in order today :).
Specky sorry to hear about your Gran's health problem
TA hope Mr TA's hand is on the mend
Gers well done on the new job
Judi I hope that prodigal is ok now
I hope I haven't missed anyone out but please forgive me, as my memory is not what it used to be.
Hugs to all that may need or want one.

  • Surprise surprise the weatherman was right. It stopped raining and the sun came out so the mats and towels got washed and pegged out after all! In fact it felt so warm I took out a garden chair, a glass of wine and my book and sat in the sunshine reading! Very pleasant it was too!

Welcome home NANNYWINDOW and, despite the tragedy, I hope you had a nice break. Thanks for the good wishes and, yes, Mr TA's hand is feeling much better. We can't see what's happening inside all the padding and bandages but he feels sure he can move the fingers that have been straightened. So maybe, just maybe, the op was a success despite the surgeon's misgivings on operating a second time.

Forgive me GERS, I forgot to offer congratulations on getting your new position! Well done you!

Have a nice evening folks xx

Evening all, and thanks for all the good wishes.

My new chairs are lovely! I've unpacked them both from mountains of wrapping and kept the huge plastic bags for storing the chairs in. I sat in one for an hour outside listening to Pick of the Pops - 1971. Joy, apart from the wind.

The wind meant I got a large load of washing dried. Had to keep untangling Tshirts from the line as they got wrapped around often, same with towels.

I've been to a sixth birthday party of the son of a neighbour, it was delightful. Because of the very high winds they set up all manner of old-fashioned party games inside their new barn. Then food was in another part of their house - hot dogs and crisps. Pass the parcel next and then cake. They went to great lengths but it wasn't extravagant or expensive, just old-fashioned fun.

Now it's time to put my feet up and do some reading.
