Child trust fund missing voucher

Hi
First post, hoping someone can help.
My son received £500 child trust fund voucher when he was born (Jan 2003). I opened a trust fund account with The Brittannia.
We have not made any further payments into this account and the balance is now approximately £520.
A chance conversation with a friend who has a child of the same age revealed that her child received a second voucher of £250 when they turned 7. I've checked and my son was eligible for this second voucher but never received it.
I have tried in vain to resolve this but as these funds no longer exist I have been unable to.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks in advance

Hardly anybody got the 2nd payment because it was scrapped before most qualified.
If you child turned 7 between 1 September 2009 and 31 July 2010 then you qualified. If not then you missed out.0 -
Unclaimed vouchers were invested in a default account set up by HMRC. So you might have a second CTF floating about somewhere with the 2nd payment in.
There is a form on the HMRC website which may help you trace where the money has gone

Thanks for replying, yes he was 7 in Jan 2010 so should be eligible.0

Have you asked The Britannia? I believe it would have been their responsibility to obtain the second voucher if you were entitled to it.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
