Probably with looking at checkatrade to find a good local kitchen fitter.
As for the kitchen could try ikea as they design & supply units & appliances.

Plenty of options ikea, B&q, wickes , wren and any independent companies. No harm in getting design done from all of them. Then u can pick and choose before negotiations

Go with personal recommendation rather than checkatrade...

Check-a-Trade is not reliable. There are people on there with glowing 9.8+ ratings who I know from bitter experience are totally incompetent. Sadly, you still need to follow up references yourself, unless the job is a small one that you could afford to write off to experience. Which can be worth doing, as a way of testing people out before you hire them for a bigger job.

No it is not, at least according to your post. Your kitchen has not been designed yet so a fitter will not be interested in working for you until you adopt a proactive approach. You could go to Howdens, B&Q, Wickes, Homebase and so on and the designs done FOC. You will then automatically get an introduction to fitting. Or you could design it yourself. It appears at the moment that neither approach has been followed?

Ultimately, if you get rigid units, get laminate worktops, are not over fussy on workmanship, and keep things simple a handyman may be suitable to do your work. A cheaper and more easily available person than a kitchen fitter.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Kitchen Flair in Leyland or Lostock Hall, or Kam Design in Preston are two of the best options around there.
