cost of a dropped kerb

A little help please i had the kerb dropped so i can now drive into my drive when i asked for it to be done i was quoted a price and date for starting the works it was marked in white spray paint at the time and still going on i was having chemotherapy and i wasnt taking much noice anyway they came and did the job iv used it a few times but after closer inspection they didnt do the opening all the way across so i asked them to come and see it they came and he said it needed another 1 kerb lowering so they would use the one thats there he said they would send me the estimate well when it came it was half the price of what id already paid so what im asking is should it cost so much to put there wrong doing right should i have to pay anything at all and am i in the wrong for not complaining at the time im sorry it iv confused you but any help would be much appreciated

Depends. If the original marking shows that they didn't complete the job to the planned specification, you have a case to say that you didn't get what was specified and paid for.
If you're asking for it to be widened further than originally planned, it's entirely fair that they charge you. As to the cost, it won't be directly proportional to the length. If they have to come back out, there are all the costs associated with that extra visit, not just the extra kerbstone.0 -

If the dropped kerb isn't wide enough for a normal car then I would expect them to finish the job for free.
If you're trying to park a caravan and didn't mention this before the work started, then you'll probably have to pay.
If it's just a case of swapping stones around, you could someone freelance to do it on the sly, no-one will notice. If there is sloped asphalt to lay, then it'll be expensive.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
