Warning about Animal Friends Insurance

Just discovered this and seems worth a warning in case anyone does a search for this company "Animal Friends". It seems absolutely amazing to me that none of their policies, including 'Accidents Only', cover claims made to emergency vets out of hours that are non-life threatening, no matter how bad the injury. And they decide what life threatening means. If your pet is involved in an incident and is tremendous pain and it's not Mon-Fri 9-5, forget about it. Can't quite believe they don't mention this on the features of the policies - a real stinker of a trick!

I would think that you could consider tremendous pain as life threatening as this is likely to be serious, animals being more stoical than us humans.

A broken leg could well be life threatening as a break could mean loss of circulation in the limb, blood poisoning ,if there is an open wound or even by causing shock.

    You have misunderstood this exclusion.

You can claim for a visit out of hours, but only get the additional out of hours fee if the visit was required to prevent a life endangering condition.
