Replacement window quote

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to give some advice please? I am looking to replace the windows in my property and really have no idea what to look out for in terms of dodgy companies and practices. Could anyone give me some advice?

I have had one quote so far and this is the breakdown:

emoval of all existing wooden windows and disposal of same
* after removal of the above, clean down brick work to frame recess
* supply and install A rated UPVC White windows to all areas
* foam insulate the housing for new frames
* seal exterior and fit trim
* on the interior, make good any plaster or wall damage
* trim interior around frame and seal
* existing windows are designed with a side opener and fan light
* would propose to replace windows with sculptured design and
side opener, to match neighbouring properties
* window furniture, white unless other colour requested
* all waste materials to be removed from property

Labour, supply of all new materials, removal of waste to include
trade recycling charges and VAT included - £5,985. 00.

This price seems excessive to me to replace 6 windows. Or is my expectation of cost way out?
Also charging me for their trade recycling charges seems odd or again is that just me?
