Singapore Airlines v Qatar Airways BC

I plan on flying to New Zealand some point next year.

I've never travelled business class with either Qatar or Singapore and was looking for opinions on who you think are the better airline and why.

Length of flights are similar and both use A380 and 777s, the only difference is Singapore are £64 cheaper.

Thanks in advance.

Avoid B777 aircraft and stick to A350 A380 and B787 aircraft, the air quality is better and you'll feel less tired.

Have a look on you tube at the various reviews, Dennis Bunnik is good.

QataR are introducing Q suite which looks good.

If you travel Qatar you would get Avios for a BA executive club account which you could spend on BA short haul flights.

Also look into starting NOT in the UK as the fares can be a lot cheaper even when you include the first UK->EU country.

Yes, Blindman, I plan on flying from Copenhagen - £1800+ cheaper than flying from Heathrow!

Don't know how to multiquote, but how can I avoid the 777s when both airlines use them on one of the legs?

Think I'm leaning towards Singapore as they have the A380 on one of the legs, whilst turns out Qatar uses 777 and 787 Dreamliner

    Good one!:D

In reality you can't as despite good planning with either schedule they could switch aircraft types any time

A380 Business Class is far better than the 777 version.
    Well it was on Emirates.

What is your back up plan if the flight to CPH is cancelled?

Pick the airline with the shortest leg on a B777.

If you like peanuts, pick Singapore.

If the Op is switched on then

    1. Fly the night before\airport hotel-(Small risk)
    2. Pick airline with several daily flights to CPH and select the earliest one if flying to NZ the same day (riskier)

Is that the last flight of the day or the 3rd from last flight of the day to CPH?

Flying in winter or summer, is the advice the same?

    Is fog a factor ?

Depends on the Op and how she wants to mitigate the risk against cost savings.

If I was flying in Winter then weather cancellations would be a factor and I would definitely go the day before-and NEVER the last flight of the day.

Depending on practicality then 3rd flight from the last may be the sweet spot.
