What items would you absolutely not go on holiday without?
Other than the obvious like towels/swimmies/suntun lotion/clothes/shoes etc..........

Hi
I always have a small travel type corkscrew and bottle opener (although make sure it is packed in suitcase and not in hand luggage). Very useful if you want to have a drink in your room or on your balcony, means you can buy your own and not have to pay hotel prices or room service charges.
Cheers

I must admit I was hoping for a better response!
I'm not being nosey, was just hoping that you good people would jog my memory in case there's anything I haven't thought of, as I'm going away next week - the first holiday for 10+ years.:wave:0 -

A bit ungrateful isn't it. Think of them yourself then0 -
Unless you are visiting the Panan in Sarawak you won't need the net hammock ,fire starter, magnifying glass,or purification tablets but just a good book plenty of cash for the good nights out your'll be having.
Personally I don't travel with out my Bhudda and my music player and a camera. My walkman died a few years ago so have upgraded to a MP4.
Where are you going to?
The responses maybe more detailed .Previously known as Bokken, registered at MSE in Nov 04,computer glich deleted my access but it is fun building up my stars from scratch,again.:D0 -

If going abroad, photocopies of passports (in separate place to passports) in case stolen or lost, to make it easier to get replacements in the event. Also name and phone number inside suitcase in case outer labels come off and luggage goes astray. I always cross-pack as well (half of my clothes and half of DH's in each case) so we at least have some clothes each if one case goes missing.
I always hope if you take precautions like that, the law of Sod will look elsewhere to take revenge

I take a short extension lead with a double socket allowing me to make drinks with the travel kettle and recharge any batteries for phone/camera as well as {if not supplied} the wife to be able to use a hairdryer0

My travel iron - how people can wander around in creased up clothes is beyond me  Oh and if you're a member of pigsback then don't forget Curly

Mobile phone charger - a tupperware tub to put my packed lunches in (rather than eating out all of the time). Suglasses. Soap-powder or liquid. I never take loads of clothes away, and so often need to wash them.0
