Advise on faulty product

We bought an electric car for our sons 3rd birthday on 2nd April 2017 from a well know supermarket online who in turn outsource to a third party. We paid £299.99 via stores vouchers saved and on a gift card.
Since having this car, we have encountered many issues. The first issue is when the car arrived and it was scuffed. We spoke direct to the supplier of the car and they refunded us £30 which we were happy to accept.
A month or so later, the gear box on the back wheels stopped working. The car supplier insisted it was the on/off switch and sent out for my husband to fix which did nothing and then they decided it was the gearbox and so sent a new one out to be fitted again by my husband (turned out to be a wire that had not be soldered on properly). This took around two weeks to sort.
At no time was the car offered to be collected and fixed by the supplier or the well known supermarket.
In June, the front wheel then buckled and when my husband had a look, the front metal axel which holds the two front wheels on had split which is at a weld point on the bar (since looking, there is a hairline crack On the opposite side). We have emailed and spoke numerous times and at length to the supermarket who have to legally give the supplier 7 days for a response. We were told that the fault lay with us as we had damaged it and as a 'goodwill' guesture they would send out a replacement axel. The car was not driven into anything and to highlight that it is being driven by a 3yr old child in a car made for children! I have since had a welder look at the bar and they have confirmed the weld section at which it has gone is not strong enough (bit more indepth and technical but that was basically the outcome!).
We have argued this case but to no support of the supermarket who's claim department have 'sided' with the supplier (despite photos of fault and mention of other faults since having the car). The customer care team at the supermarket have all agreed (and I've seem to have spoken to most of them now, that they find it very hard to believe that a 3yr old could damage a metal axel bar driving round a garden! He would have to drive into something very substantial and at a high speed to do so!).
So the car has been out of action for 7weeks since the fault. My husband fitted the axel which doesn't fit the mold and so the part is not flushed and the screws now don't fit. The car was then put on charge overnight and now the battery doesn't work 😩
We have now asked for a full refund which we are being refused but now offered a new charger to see if that helps!
The supplier state on their website it offers 'parts only' for repairs, however we went through the supermarket to purchase. Can anyone advise as we seem to have a car unfit for use and has sat in the shed for more time than it has been driven. We seem to have no rights in getting a refund.
Very fed up and I expect the car will be out of action for another few weeks until they send the charger.

You'll probably need your welder friend to provide an expert opinion in writing. Of course, the well known supermarket may insist on an independent report.

    I'm guessing its this one:

Perhaps ask tesco why they're not upholding their guarantee:
What is the Tesco Partner Guarantee?
We know that you may not have heard of all of our Tesco Partners and understand you may be reluctant to buy items from third parties. The Tesco Partner Guarantee is available to reassure you in that should anything go wrong between you and the Tesco Partner we will liaise between you both to resolve your issue and secure your refund of the original amount paid should this be due.

OP try facebook, if that doesn't work...send an LBA.
