    If you have £1200-£1500 spare each month you could easily pay off the credit card within 4 months without using all your spare, lets be conservative and say 4 flights to US costs £3000, thats only 2-3 months worth of spare cash.
    Its up to you, but you can easily afford to replace the garage and take the US trip without being financially stretched.
