Please Help- Beautician won't refund me for treatments I haven't used

Options
Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help. I recently had a cryotherapy treatment. I bought a set of 4 as I'd had the treatment elsewhere with no issue. After my first treatment with this new salon my skin was red and sore and painfully unpleasant. I sought out a pharmacist the next day as it was a Sunday.
After this I didn't want to use the remainder of my 3 sessions as it had left me sore my skin was an odd texture and clearly I'd had a reaction. I didn't want to be refunded for the one I had used just refunded for the other 3 I would not.
The salon will not refund me, they've made every excuse. I've had to send them pictures they tell me it isn't a cold burn and I know nothing about it so shouldn't have treated it. As an aside it felt a lot better after the pharmacists treatment. My issue isn't my treating it's the fact my skin is sore and I don't want to proceed. I've had the treatment before and never had this.
They're basically saying it's my fault, that there's nothing wrong with their treatment, and being quite aggressive about it. It's at least £150 they owe me.
I feel like I'm not asking for too much here. They're not out anything. Can anyone help, I've been trying to get this resulted since Sunday.

  • I'm just not sure what my rights are here and they are so aggressive and making me feel in the wrong, but I genuinely don't think I am, so hoping someone can help.

So you've visited them again and showed them ?
Your skin is still red and painful?
What are they saying is the reason for this?

The obvious thing to do,would be to visit your doctor who can discuss your reaction? Hives? Take your consent form with you did you read the small print?
Unless you can give some more detail, I don't think anyone can advise you.
Did they take your blood pressure and record your skin temperature when you came out?
The problem is if you are talking about Whole body cryotherapy there is no medical evidence that it is beneficial.
Presumably you could have just bought one session but you bought a course and got some discount?
Are they therefore saying it's ok for you to complete the course safely?
How is it your fault? What have they said?

Sounds like another of those "snake oil" treatments ... because people pay for it then they convince themselves that it does them good.
