    what loss of bargain?
They bought a "bargain" ex-display fridge which the OP alleges was damaged subsequent to purchase and prior to delivery. I suggested the OP threaten court action because he asked for options, but nowhere did I say this would be successful. :)

When I moved into my current house we found out that the previous owner had built their kitchen to only fit a very small fridge/freezer. We bought one from Currys and there was only 4 to choose from and 2 of those were the same model but in different colours.

Chances are you will be able to find something to fit. White goods tend to come in a set standard of sizes. You just might have a limited choice like I did.

The suggest to enquiry about replacement doors from the manufacturer is a good one - they may have them available.

The whole issue of not allowing friends to see you F/F is extreme. I don't it would stop most of us from having parties. Is that really how you feel about the doors? If not have you asked for a partial refund to compensate for the doors? Currys normally offer a discount if you are happy to keep damaged goods.

So this started September last year right, its now July 2017, I cant see Curry's doing anything about it now with it being what 9 months later. Should have got it replaced at an earlier point.

Whats the model number of the fridge ?

So you had the Fridge freezer delivered and then at some point had the porch area fitted meaning a new 1 cant fit through, why did you have the porch done when there was the possibility you would be getting a new fridge freezer.

We attempted to get it replaced last year. I complained to Curry's helpline as soon as the damage was discovered and then to our local store as instructed by the helpline, in September. On every subsequent visit to the store we were continually told our case was being dealt with, or the member of staff who was dealing with it was unavailable but our enquiry would be passed to them, or that it was now being looked at by another duty manager. The ongoing situation was not due to lack of contact on our part! Plans for our kitchen design were finalised after we purchased the ff. The plans for our house had been designed and workmen booked and organised several weeks before the fridge freezer was delivered in the September and were on a strict schedule. The porch was completed as we were expecting to get new doors for the ff to replace the damaged ones as we were originally told that the issue was between Curry's and LG about who would pay for them.
I will contact LG as suggested to see if replacement doors are available and keep fingers tightly crossed that they are and that Curry's will foot the bill!

Buy some magnets, do some finger painting with your granddaughter (and any other grandchildren you have) use the magnets to proudly display their artwork on your fridge and hey presto the damage is covered.

Thanks Foster dog.....I have 3 grandchildren who have all done exactly that.....looks like it's going to be the only 'satisfactory ' outcome!

You said that the kitchen has been built around this smaller fridge and the newly built porch means that you can't take out your current one.
What are you going to do in the future when this fridge breaks down and you need to replace it?

To be fair, they've already offered a full refund.
We did request that Curry's compensate us with a credit note to purchase something additional from their store for the same amount but leave the damaged ff as they had already informed us that it would be 'scrapped' They were not happy to agree to this.
The delays in this saga have not been the responsibility of ourselves, but of the company. Their ineptitude to deal with the situation promptly has what has led to the current position.
They only made the offer months into our complaint, to refund the £665 we paid for the shop floor model and stated that we would have to return the damaged product. To purchase the new equivalent model would cost around £1,150.
Following the renovation of our house we do not have any remaining funds to do this, let alone reconstruct the kitchen (or the porch), and as we are retired it sounds like we will just have to shut up and put up!
We were fobbed off time after time and no doubt Curry's do this to customers in order that people will just give up ...... it looks like they've succeeded on this occasion.!
Thanks to those of you who offered assistance on my issue

We are hoping that in 4 or 5 years time we will be able to access the rear of our home which is currently inaccessible and that we will be able to afford an equivalent ff by then.:)

In the meantime I guess I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that the ff doesn't suffer any other problems!
