If you were comparing the price I stated with one you'd come up with in your head that wasn't what the OP quoted, you should have made that clear...
i assume the OP was sharp enough to work out what I was getting at, especially seeing as I'd mentioned your name in my previous response.
The price I came up with was by pricing a branded clutch kit & flywheel, and looking up the repair time on Autodata, and that for a 1.8T - just like any other garage would do. Please don't assume that I had just decided on a figure 'in my head'.0 -

The point I am making is that you said "hence THE difference". If you weren't using the quoted figures as comparators, then THE difference to which you were referring had not been defined; THE difference as defined was £600, that between the only figures quoted.
It's irrelevant where your figures came from, you didn't quote them, so the subject of your sentence could ONlY be the difference between figures which had been established - and yours had not.0 -
Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in updating you all. I managed to find a gearbox specialist local to me who done all the work, plus replaced 2 x CV boots as they needed doing for £1000. Still a lot i know, but needed to get back on the road ASAP0
