PCN at hospital

Options
I am hoping someone can provide advice. I looked last night for an hour in the newbies section but found it tonne quite stressful. I'm a student nurse with a lot of work on at the moment and struggling to find time to decipher it all.

I was placed at a hospital 40 miles from home, so working full time but not getting paid. So to receive a parking fine was a real blow. I had bought daily scratch card type permits and displayed one appropriately. Was told by facilities I could park in any staff bay outside of the block I was working. I did this not realising that the final bay was a 30 min drop of bay, I don't recall any signs, just the paint actually on the bay, but it was misleading as it also said staff.

I spoke to ward staff who said to ignore ticket and letters as they never come of anything, so I didn't bother to appeal. I've now had a (rather unprofessional looking) final demand letter from IE Legal solicitors and am very worried. Most of the other threads give read seem to be about what to do after an appeal.

I have the permit still as proof

Thanks in advance

the people who told you to IGNORE and nothing ever happens cannot be trusted , they know nothing and are not legally trained (a PPC has 6 years to issue a court claim)

take a look at the recent INDIGO court case at UHW in Cardiff to see what can happen (see parking pranksters blogs)

    and see this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5680558

    they had permits too

as for your predicament , ideally you want the TRUST to cancel this pcn (its an invoice , not a fine)

if the solicitors letter is an LBC , then you should reply and refute it

if its a DCA letter , IGNORE it

if you get an MCOL from Northampton CCBC , then come back for further advice and help

that NEWBIES thread does tell you what needs to be done , plus its free advice , you wont get better advice anywhere else , not even if you paid for it

and try to get your UNION involved, to see if it can be quashed

I assume this is in England or Wales ?

Can you confirm which parking company issued the ticket?

I spoke to the hospital and they said they can't interviene which is fair enough. They said to speak to the parking company and I stupidly gave her my charge no, I'm instantly regretting it as I've now made contact. She was very stern and sharp, have a ruined all chances of quashing it now I've made contact? I'm waiting for unison to call me back.

The ticket just says BPA, she also said they are currently taking someone to court. Doesn't matter that there is no signage. I should have appealed and it's my fault for ignoring

Read up in the newbies faq thread again on the game you are involved in - whatever else you think about that thread, it isn't stressful to read - though maybe a little complicated on first reading

You look to be in the debt collectors stage - whereby you can ignore all debt collectors, don' respond or ring them.

Get Unison on your case - point out to them that the hospital authorities only response to you was to contact the PPC!!

IMHO, they probably won't - they were not helpful to the Cardiff Nurses & staff.
    IE Legal solicitors

You must reply. The NEWBIES thread post #2 tells you how.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
