In general, you tend to find the factory line phone based services are fine with easy cases. However, they have less tolerance and ability to resolve easily the more complicated cases. Their sales reps want to sell the mortgage and move on to the next sale and the next one and so on.

I think you're right. My own case was not run of the mill but was something another independant broker sorted out without any problem, and without needing bank urls printed on any statements.

I found the lack of attention to detail with L&C meant it was a long string of "send this", "now we need that", "A is wrong, can you send again", "B is a month out of date now, can you send A & B together with a url". They were very easy to approach and get started with but I found the handling broker extremely arrogant and was pleased to drop my application through them and go elsewhere.

I am using L&C at the moment and thnk theyre fantastic. Email replies are very fast, 10 mins or so. Phone calls are very easy. Everything is done promptly.

Could you perhaps get a different advisor?

It isnt normally the mortgage adviser. It is the borrower. In the sense that simple cases tend to go through L&C very easily. However, cases with issues (such as pushing limits or non-standard stuff) tend to get treated as less priority.

We used L&C last year and found them very good.

My credit file had no problems but my partner had a default so we had to use their adverse team and they were great.

They got us 1.49% with Halifax (probably helped that I bank with Halifax and we had 45% deposit)

The official L&C mse account doesn't fancy commenting with one of their links on this post?

    Funny that.
