PC can't see external hdd anymore - help please

I have a WD My Passport Ultra 1tb drve which I connect to my ( windows10) PC.
For some reason, the PC doesn't displayt it anymore in the This PC Devices and Drives section.
However if I go to Device Manager, it shows up under Disc Drives.
I don't know how to access the drive to save stuff to it.
If I attach the drive to my laptop it works perfectly and shows up in file explorer just fine.
Please can anyone help - thanks

I had this problem when I used Vista and the workaround was to boot to safemode and error check the external drive which fixed it. I don't know if it'll work with W10.You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

As a starter try the built-in Windows troublershooter...
Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Configure a device.0 -
