Don't expect it any time soon! I was due a parcel for a job I had to complete on Monday - it arrived today (I live in Oban!!)
Yes, I always live in more hope than expectation. Once I ordered an item from Tesco Direct to be delivered to my nearest store, the little one in LGH, it came up from down south to Glasgow, then to Oban and then back to the local store. And then it wasn't the correct thing.
Since my last post I've found out that the DX text and online tracking were referring to the two chairs being delivered to the local courier! Due to come to me on Monday.
Well, it rained here for about 10 seconds. I've been in the garden tidying up the remnants of dead bluebells and spraying weeds. Creeping buttercups particularly. I was so pleased to find that my Sonos speaker worked outside perfectly, so it's true, men do have their uses! Ex had installed a home plug in the small barn which takes wifi into the garden. I've taken six 'sins' off his bad man list. :rotfl:
I've cooked some chicken thighs for my lunches. They are so lovely and juicy at first but after a couple of days in the fridge they're so much tougher.
I've also watched the documentary about John Denver. I really enjoyed his music in my younger days, what a voice he had. So sad that he's gone now.0 -
Hi Chums best laid plans etc
:) I was supposed to drive up to Stanstead late afternoon to pick DGS Ben up from his flight from Montreal via Dublin but got a frantic call this morning saying he had talked to Air Canada in Montreal, and they said he could disembark at Heathrow ,so he landed there at 0.7.30am this morning, and I set off with DGS Henry at 08.30 to pick him up.
He said he didn't mind waiting as if he had got the connecting flight to Dublin and changed again there he wouldn't have arrived in Stanstead until 17.50 tonightJust got onto the m'way and came to a grinding halt as there was a lorry on fire at B'water so all traffic was funneled onto M.20 so my normal hour and a half journey too almost double.
But managed to pick up a very tired grandson and then we had another fraught journey home as the traffic was dreadful.arrived back in Kent at 14.30 a round trip of 150 miles took me 6 hours !!!. Bless him he was quite broke, so couldn't even get a tube or train home.but he has had a great time and is now sleeping off a bit of jet lag as his body clock is 7 hours behind the time. but he is young and will recover.
I have been sitting with my feet up and relaxing ever since as crawling heavy traffic is quite exhausting. Still at least he is home safe 'n'sound
I shall dig something out of the freezer for dinner that can be zapped in the microwave as I am not in the mood to do much cooking:) the weather has been humid and warm although there has been quite a few showers, still it saves having to water the garden.
Hope you all had a good day and good news about Mr TA hand ,fingers crossed (figuratively speaking) that all is well for him.
Hugs for those who are sad and blue today
Take care all

Oh the joys of the M25!
Your lorry fire was a load of chocolate.0 -
Talking of chocolate! The 3 DGDs appeared after school with a Get Well card for grandad and a box of chocolates. Youngest kindly offered to open the chocolates for him 'cos he wouldn't be able to do it with his poorly hand. By the time they left the box was empty! Oh well I suppose they did us a favour! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Sleep well, little Rafa; and when you wake, run free in the Summerlands. x
Judi stay strong, hun. As someone once told me when I was trying and failing to aid a friend, "Some people simply want to stay broken".
Lost most of today to another dratted migraine; I put it down to lying awake staring at the ceiling til 05:00 a.m. last night. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Good evening you lovely people
Late checking in as I was out of sorts this morning after a sleepless night.
Not my doing this time but the neighbours, so ashamedly I gave as good as I was getting around 2am this morning..I too can make lots of noise when I want to
I also accidentally left the alarm on in my bedroom, blaring repeatedly, at it's loudest, from 6am this morning...... whilst I went for a cup of tea or two in the living room before going to work :silenced:
*Hangs head in shame*... :A
Take care all and ((hugs)) to anyone in needx

Karcher been there done that! My previous neighbours went through a rather hefty partying stage that left me tired and terribly grumpy so after a particular 4 night party (wed to sat) I decided it was time for payback. I woke early on the Sunday - or more to the point gave up trying to sleep and got up and decided it was a fabulous idea to turn up the tunes while I did my housework AND because it was Summer I opened the windows to air the placeEmma
