Kindle gone haywire downloading books I already bought

Options
I went on line with my Kindle last night to download a book I just bought and it went crazy downloading books I already bought some time ago. I tried again today and same thing happened. but I do not seem to have duplicate copies so it must be overwriting them We are talking books I bought 2 years ago and more. Anyone else had this?

I do not have books on my phone. I have not deleted any books lately. The only difference is that when the kindle needed recharging, I did view a book on my tablet using the Kindle app. All I did was read the latest book "in the cloud" no downloading. I did not delete anything. It seems to have happened since then.

If the kindle addition of a book has been updated, i.e. Spelling or grammar errors corrected your kindle will update the book, and as my kindle lists books as newest first some of my older books will appear on the front page after being updated.

So it is not some sort of syncing problem caused by my installing the Kindle app on my tablet?

If you don't get the answer here then somebody on the Kindle forum might possibly be able to help https://www.amazon.co.uk/forum/kindle?*Version*=1&*entries*=0
