Hi all

Would really appreciate some advice please.

The driver 'overstayed' in a private free car park on a large retail estate. The first the driver heard about this was early July when the registered owner got a letter from ZZPS, a debt collection service. the driver was rather fuming to get this and stupidly rang the debt collection agency accepted responsibility as the driver, and told them that we hadn't had the original invoice and requested they send it. The driver offered to pay the original amount (I know, I know now having read the threads....). They did not call back and the driver emailed three times. The registered owner has now got another letter stating, this time stating that the account is being passed to a solicitor. The driver was so angry because at the ignored attempts to resolve the matter, rang once again and after sending another email this afternoon, finally got a response basically telling saying that the 'fine' stands because the parking company, NSGL LTD sent two invoices out, although they cannot prove this and do not have proof of delivery. Advice sought from Popla but as NSGL won't give an appeal number as the time has lapsed, POPLA couldn't help.

Should the driver just pay the invoice?

Thanks in advance.

read post #4 of the NEWBIES sticky thread, thats all you needed to do

and IGNORE zzps , they can do nothing

if the PPC or a SOLICITOR sends you an LBC or an MCOL via Northampton in the post , come back for help

DCA letters are not scary, they have no powers , dont read them

    and NEVER PHONE THEM !!!

    read this too

You don't need a solicitor. Tiny parking firm with almost no court experience:

    http://www.bmpa.eu/companydata/NSGL.html

Worry ye not. If you get a claim, take heart from the fact we help people win over 99% of the time (I can recall just ONE lost this year and the person then paid the £160-odd, no CCJ, nothing bad. So what really?!). All the others won and many claimed their costs - one this week reported £175 in costs was granted to him about an unfair claim brought by a parking firm's useless solicitors.

If you get a letter from Gladstones, search the forum for 'Gladstones letter'. Similarly, if it's SCS Solicitors or BW Legal, or maybe Wright Hassall, or whoever, the forum has all you need to know here already.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • That's amazing. The knowledge on this site is incredible. Thank you. I have been worrying about this too much! I just wish I had ignored the ZZPS letters but I was so angry to have not heard from NGSL directly, I couldn't stop myself. There is a part of me which wants a day at court...

    Thank you again.

that is why these scam debt collectors send out their drivel

and the PPC do not have to prove that anyone received their letters, they only have to prove that they posted them , because legally letters are deemed "delivered" 2 days later if its by royal mail

never phone them up , we tell people to IGNORE them for good reason , as you will see in the NEWBIES sticky thread and that ROSSENDALES thread I linked

you only owe money if a judge says so, after a court case

no different than this old thread here

Throughout here the advice is never reveal who was driving.

Edit your post to remove details of who was driving

The ppcs monitor this forum and can use your posts against you

If you have inadvertently used your real name as your forum name you need to contact MSE to get it changed to something anonymous
  • I really wish I had come on here first, before I let my hot head get the best of me and rung ZZPS! I am on this website most days, just stupidly hadn't look in the forums before. I won't pay a thing until a Judge tells me.

Thank you again. I have learnt so many lessons over the past 4 hours, including how naïve I am!
  • Thank you, Quentin.

Unfortunately I have admitted in all my emails to ZZPS that I am the driver! I didn't want them coming after my husband, as the registered owner, when it's my car and I was driving.

I stupidly didn't look up what to do until a few hours ago. I am quite ashamed, to be honest. I am an intelligent woman normally, but couldn't see past the fact that I didn't get any letters from NGSL, and was just so angry I rang them to vent my frustration. However I do really appreciate your advice, so thank you.

read this https://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2017/07/the-indigo-matters-continue-who-is.html about those lying sc@mmers at ZZPS

this involves health workers at UHW in Cardiff , and their recent loss in court

at the moment I have contributed to their appeal fund so that hopefully it can be appealed and won (and a barrister has offered his services for free too)

now you see the lengths that liars like ZZPS will go to to cheat people

Oh, but don't panic about the costs, which do not apply to your case in an ordinary small claim hearing.
